Lumenra was founded on a single quiet conviction — that a chandelier, a sconce, a bedside lamp should outlast the room it was bought for. We build heirloom lighting the way the old houses did: cast brass, hand-blown glass, hand-carved stone, and the slow finishing that only people, never machines, can do.

From an upstate barn,
to a Greene Street studio.
Lumenra began in 2023 in a converted barn outside Hudson, New York — a single workbench, a brass-casting setup, and a kiln. The brief was simple: stop watching beautiful, broken old fixtures change hands at auction. Make new ones that deserve the same fate, fifty years from now.
Three years later, we work with four small workshops across two continents. We still make twelve to thirty pieces of any given design a month. Sometimes fewer.
We will never make a thousand a month. That is, on purpose, the entire point.

Every Lumenra piece passes through at least two of these workshops before it leaves Brooklyn. Some — the alabaster pendants, the Murano-glass chandeliers — pass through three.

A three-generation family workshop where each piece of Spanish alabaster is selected from the quarry, hand-carved, and hand-polished.

A master glassblower's studio on the historic island, where every opal globe, pendalogue, and bell is hand-blown in 1100°C furnaces.

Every order over $2,500 ships via our two-person white-glove service: scheduled delivery window, in-room placement, full debris removal, and basic assembly. Installation by a licensed electrician available on request in NY, LA, Miami, Chicago, Austin.

Lifetime Workshop Care
Send us a piece you bought from us — five, fifteen, fifty years on — and we'll re-wire it, re-finish it, source replacement parts. For as long as you own it. Owner pays shipping and materials; labor is on us.

30-Day Returns
Try a piece in your room for thirty days. If it doesn't belong there, send it back for a full refund. No restocking fees. Made-to-order pieces are non-returnable but covered by our two-year limited warranty.
